Kim has spent her career in health care, beginning with working as a clinical music therapist in a county psychiatric hospital. Over time, she transitioned her skills into the business world, working for 25 years at Johnson & Johnson. Her expertise is in organization development and leadership development. Kim was born and raised in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio and grew up in the Methodist Church. She has degrees in music therapy, business administration and organizational change from Michigan State, Marshall and Pepperdine Universities respectively. Kim is a ruling Elder at Nassau Presbyterian Church in Princeton, NJ where she is focused on Stewardship and Strategic Planning. Her passionate avocation is music, singing in the Adult Choir at Nassau Church and playing the flute. In addition to her service at Nassau Church, Kim is on the Board of Directors for Dress for Success of Central NJ. Kim currently lives in Belle Mead, NJ with her husband Glenn Thomas, a passionate advocate for antique automatic musical instruments. Kim and Glenn value travel to all parts of the world and strive to understand and be a part of local cultures. Kim made her first Friendship trip to Malawi in August 2018, filling a long-held desire to spend a week in village life in the developing world. During that trip, Kim was impacted by the partnership model of VIP and its powerful possibilities to continue to improve the lives of villagers in Malawi.
